A hotel lobby, a ballroom and a bar each need their own light, and all of them have to work on a busy Saturday. As hospitality lighting designers and consultants, we plan the light for hotels, banquet and catering halls, and event spaces across New Jersey, specify every fixture and stay with the project to the final walkthrough.
Hotels
At the Marriott in Saddle Brook we lit the walkways, the drop-off canopy and the entryway, so the hotel is easy to find and the walk in feels comfortable. Inside, a lobby needs a warm first impression and enough light to read a key card. We pick fixtures for long hours and easy lamp changes.
Park Chateau in East Brunswick pairs a crystal chandelier under a blue-lit dome with a warm, cove-lit coffered ceiling. An event room needs several looks in one night, so we plan scenes for setup, dinner, dancing and cleanup before we choose a fixture.
The bar at The Chateau Grande has brass pendants over the counter and a cove-lit ceiling above. Light stays low and close, on the counter, the bottles and the guests, with the rest of the room kept dim and everything on dimmers.
Hotel lobbies & front desks · Ballrooms & catering halls · Event and party rooms · Bars, lounges & tea rooms · Entrances, drop-off areas & walkways
What we plan
Scenes for each part of an event · Chandeliers and cove lighting · Dimming and simple controls · Fixtures sized to the room · Facade and entrance lighting
Either. We can work directly for the hotel or venue owner, or join the architect and interior designer as the lighting consultant. In both cases we produce the layout and the fixture specification.
Can you design the lighting for just one room?
Yes. Many hospitality projects start with a single ballroom, lobby or bar. We look at how that room connects to the spaces around it so the new light fits.
Do you design exterior lighting for hotels and venues?
Yes. Entrances, drop-off areas, walkways, facades and gates. Our Marriott Saddle Brook and Park Chateau projects both include exterior work.
