Sparta is lake country. Lake Mohawk, the private planned community with its historic boardwalk, is the best known, but there are smaller lakes too, along with wooded hills and newer neighborhoods.
Lake houses have big windows and great views by day. At night the glass reflects the room back at you unless the light is kept low and away from it. We plan great rooms, kitchens and lower levels with that in mind.
On the water, outdoor light should be low and glare-free. Docks and lawns are lit softly so the lake stays dark, and steps and drives on the slopes are lit for safety.
